About Picture This

Picture This: Someone Like Me is an artwork exhibition that creatively showcases postgraduate research happening at Newcastle University.

The project was developed by PhD researchers Ainsley Hatt and Phoebe Lewis with Peter Moore-Fuller from infohackit. Through workshops and a 12-month training programme led by infohackit, postgraduate researchers are developing skills in Affinity design software to translate their work into clear visual graphics as well as communicating their work more broadly.

The exhibition also features an illustrated artwork that explores the many different pathways into research and challenges common ideas who researchers are and where they come from.

The result is a collection of artworks that showcase both the diversity of research and the people behind it. By sharing research in this way, we hope more people will feel curious about it - and perhaps see themselves as part of it too.
